Welcome To The Photo Studio
Fleeting sunsets and splashes of color. Profound moments that are often overlooked, captured forever. Photography provides us with an opportunity to permanently display the world around us much more vividly than we can in our memory, preserving the magic and beauty of those experiences that stay with us.

Color Rocks Project
The Color Rocks Project is a photographic exploration of the incredible diversity of color that can be observed on the rocks of the rivers and streams in the area. These are ordinary rocks that are usually passed over by rockhounds and collectors seeking more prized stones. However, they become significant because of their intense colors, demanding attention as they shine through the water. It's an ephemeral experience, since, once dried, the colors often become muted and chalky. Ordinary rocks. This project aims to visually document and celebrate this pop of vibrant color one can find as they explore the river valleys here.

About The Photo Process
Success in creating great photos hinges on one primary principle in order to get the shot, you have to get out there. Sure, there are some photos that are scouted, planned, revised, re-shot, or staged. But more often than not the best shots sneak up on you, a surprise far grander than you could have predicted. The photo process begins with packing the camera gear for every excursion and having it at hand when the light and moment is just right.

Another major aspect of the photo process is understanding the equipment and how to use it to capture the specific image you want. Cameras have evolved to be quite advanced, but the basic principles of creating an exposure are nearly the same. Photographing a landscape will require very different lenses, filters, and camera settings than a close-up shot of a bug. Knowing which to use in every situation will enable you to capture the shot the moment it happens.

The next step of the process is to view the shots on the computer screen. On this platform, photos can be inspected for quality. Any substandard shots can be deleted immediately. Since each subject is often photographed multiple times with different settings, the photographer needs to pick the top shot for publication. Then it is cropped, color corrected, and readied for printing.

The last step is where you, the customer comes in! After selecting your favorite photo, you can choose from a variety of finishing options from the printer. Go big and print a large format wall art mount, or maybe something smaller to fit on a countertop. Browse the store now to see the selection of work currently available from Wind River Photo!
